你是否相信地震造成原因可能是因為"地牛翻身"(台灣)或"巨大的鯰魚的尾巴抖動"(日本)造成?其實地震是有其科學的根據的。這本書分成三大部份，地球形成的動態情形、地震、火山。
第一部份介紹:
-你知道我們住的地球是怎麼形成的嗎?地球是由很多層組成的，想知道它們的名稱嗎?
-火山如何造成板塊之間的碰撞呢?
-陸地真的會分成二半嗎?
-板塊碰撞會發什麼事呢?
-岩層的移動方向會造成不一樣的斷層嗎?
-一個島的最高點會是火山的最高點嗎?
第二部份介紹:
-地震從哪裡開始呢?
